Purpose The Prevention and
Training Branch develops, establishes, administers, and evaluates Army
wide alcohol and other drug prevention, education and training programs.
Objectives
Provides technical support and expertise
to Army installations on alcohol and other drug prevention programs.
- Serves as the Army’s lead agent for
Drug Demand Reduction issues and insures that the Army meets all
Congressional and DoD directives. Represents Army on DoD and national
committees related to alcohol and other drug abuse prevention, annual
campaigns, programs, and activities.
- Responsible for the professional
development and training of all non-medical substance abuse prevention
staff worldwide. Manages life cycle training through the Army civilian
training, education, and development program. Serves as TRADOC POC for
substance abuse and leadership training courses. Course manager of
prevention courses for installation alcohol and drug personnel.
- Develops and distributes alcohol and
other drug abuse prevention training curricula and multimedia products
for Army installations.
